April’s love for interior spaces is intertwined with her global explorations, from immersing herself in the beauty of Turkey to seeking out treasured carpets in Istanbul. Her appreciation for the imperfect, the wabi-sabi, and the traditions of craftsmanship has led her to distant lands, including Istanbul and Venice, where she seeks out art, textiles, and ceramics that tell captivating stories. At April Star Interiors, April’s passion for the old world, its aged facades, and the cultural lineage of traditional craftsmanship forms the cornerstone of her design ethos. 

Amy Sonnek – The Design Assistant 

At April Star Interiors, Amy Sonnek, the Design Assistant, complements April’s vision with her own unique blend of storytelling through spaces. Amy’s experiences as an educator, event planner, parent, and floral designer imbue her with a keen eye for details, a love for genuine connections, and a flair for casual transitional design with a touch of whimsy. Amy’s inspirations stem from her international experiences, which include living and working in Germany and Japan.
